On April 28th and 29th we opened our doors to the public for an Open House. Saturday morning the courtyard was set up to demonstrate the many different events that the Hibiscus House can handle. From baby showers to weddings, guests were able to see a sample of linens provided by Panache Events and discuss their upcoming events.
Saturday evening the volume was turned up as Charley Dean filled our courtyard with laughter, dancing, and music. For just $5, guests could fill up on a sample of our bar bites that are now offered daily at our bar. These bites include chips and salsa, chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, and onion rings.
Sunday morning the guests were able to get a pancake or french toast breakfast as they sampled some of the finely brewed coffee from Oceana Coffee. Rooms were open for viewing. Sunday evening finished off the weekend with $5 hamburgers and hot dogs.
Along with the new bar bites and cocktails, Hibiscus House now offers an array of activities. The first activity being this Sunday, May 13th from 9am to 11am. In partnership with Catherine Rich of Art Affects, we are celebrating mothers of all kinds this Sunday with a silk scarf dyeing workshop. Enjoy a morning tea, lite bites, and guidance on creating your very own silk scarf. The cost per person is $45 and you must call to make a reservation. Space is limited so call now!
Catherine is also doing a number of other workshops that includes Clay Jewelry on June 3rd, Splatter Painting on July 21st, and a clay votive holder on August 18th.
Another partnership we are offering is with Legends of Xscape. For $55 come and enjoy dinner followed by an escape room experience. Bring a group to figure out the story behind our treasure box! We have one scheduled night for this experience on May 25th. We are offering three different sessions at 5pm, 7pm, and 9pm. Each session can operate three different boxes with 6 people per box. Can’t come on the 25th? No problem! Call to schedule your friends, family, or corporate group! This is a great new way to network or team build!
And finally, we are offering a kayaking weekend June 16th and 17th. One the morning of the 16th we will transport you to Jonathan Dickinson where we will board a shuttle to Riverbend Park. This all day kayak paddle will take you on an adventure on the Loxahatchee River. There is opportunity to see gators, turtles, and other Florida wildlife. Learn about Trapper Nelson as we explore is ‘home’. After kayaking, come back to the inn for a BBQ with your new friends because after a day like that, how could you not be friends.
